SYNOPSIS
The film follows the travel of vallenato musician Ignacio. After the traumatic death of his wife, a musician vows to never play his accursed accordion again, and embarks on one last journey. He is followed by Fermín, a young boy who wants to be his apprentice, in a journey to return his instrument to his original owner, the man who once was his mentor.
DIRECTOR
Born in 1981 in Rio de Oro, Colombia, Ciro Guerra studied Film and Television at the National University of Colombia. At the age of twenty he wrote and directed his first feature film “La sombra del caminante” (The Wandering Shadows).
After “The Wandering Shadows” was selected for over 45 film festivals and won multiple awards around the world, his second feature “The Wind Journeys” became his second film to be selected as Colombia’s official Academy Award entry.
